What you’ll need
- Wooden block for platform
- Wooden poles or blocks for legs
- Wooden dowel for each leg
- Wood glue
Step-by-step instructions
Step 1: Cut Base to Size
Using a saw, cut the block of wood to your desired platform size. If your saw has an angle adjustment, you can this to make angled cuts along the edges for a modern, geometric touch.
Step 2: Cut Legs to Size
Cut the legs for your stand to size, ensuring each leg is the same height and wide enough to support the platform. Use a drill to add a hole to the top of each leg deep enough to insert a piece of dowel halfway. Make sure the drill bit is the same width as the dowel to create a flush fit. Glue the dowel in place and leave to dry.
Step 3: Sand Down Rough Edges
Carefully sand down the platform and legs, removing any rough edges and creating a smooth, even finish.
Step 4: Attach Legs
Use a drill driver to add pilot holes into the underside of the platform where each leg will attach. Again, make sure the hole matches the width of the dowel. Apply wood glue to the top of each leg and press them firmly into position. Allow the glue to set according to the manufacturer's instructions for a secure bond.
Step 5: Paint Plant Pots
Add extra life to plain pots with a coat of paint. We recommend using a paint sprayer for an easy, even finish. Allow to dry before use.
